Troubleshooting Guide

Welcome to our Troubleshooting and Maintenance Guide for the Halo Home Diffuser.

Here our aim is simple - provide the quickest and most effective help regarding your halo home diffuser.

With failure rates being very low on the Halo Home Diffuser we have categorised the most common faults below.

My Halo Home Diffuser is not misting:

Possible Cause - An internal blockage within the nozzle piece

Solution 1 - Shake

  1. Remove the Nozzle piece and bottle from the Halo Home Diffuser and ensure the gasket isn't blocking the hole at the back of the nozzle
  2. Cover the top jet, and side jet with your fingers - we recommend covering your fingers with paper towel
  3. Shake the nozzle back and forth for 90 seconds and then let this rest upright for 5 minutes
  4. Place the nozzle and bottle back in the Halo Home Diffuser, and begin diffusing

Tip: Place your phone torch above the nozzle, angles back to yourself to see the mist

Solution 2 - Cleaning Alcohol Flush Through

  1. Pour cleaning alcohol in to an empty 10ml oil bottle, or a 10ml bottle can be purchased here
  2. Attach the bottle to the nozzle and ensure this is tightly screwed with the straw feeding in to the liquid.
  3. Run the diffuser through a 60 minute cycle
  4. Re-attach your fragrance oil bottle to test

Tip: Place your phone torch above the nozzle, angled back to yourself to see the mist

Solution 3 - Cleaning Alcohol Soak

  1. Submerge 75% of the nozzle piece in cleaning alcohol and leave this for 5 minutes - ensure the side air hole is completely submerged
  2. Dry off the nozzle piece and re-attach the straw and re-attach your fragrance oil bottle to test

Tip: Place your phone torch above the nozzle, angled back to yourself to see the mist

Solution 4 - Changing of the Spray Core

This step may not apply to models purchased before 17th July 2024

  1. Remove the nozzle piece and bottle from the diffuser, and disconnect the straw.
  2. Refer to the spare parts bag that came with the order - using the black hexagonal tool - unscrew the white threaded spray core. You can also use your fingers instead of the hexagonal tool.
  3. Take a new spray core from the spare parts bag, and using the black hexagonal tool, screw the spray core in to the nozzle.
  4. Push one of the spare straws on to the connection and screw on an oil bottle to test.

Tip: Place your phone torch above the nozzle, angled back to yourself to see the mist

My Halo Home Diffuser is not Charging

  • Possible Cause - Faulty charging cable being used or rated to an incorrect power source
  • Solution - Please use the original charging wire provided with the unit and test for any damage. Ensure the power source does not exceed 5V.

My halo Home Diffuser won't stay on

  • Possible Cause - Power issue or the nozzle isn't correctly installed
  • Solution - Please verify whether the charging wire is supplying power and check for any sign of damage. Next, ensure the arrows on the nozzle are aligned and in flush to the unit

Maintenance Tips for your Halo Home Diffuser

The beauty of these diffusers is that they are very low maintenance, this being said we would recommend routinely flushing the diffuser with cleaning alcohol as demonstrated in the above video, for optimal performance, and to maximise its lifecycle.
